Writing Week in Review: 2/25-3/3

Enfant_écrivant-Henriette_Browne

And so concludes the second week of my brief creative writing hiatus. As I mentioned last week, I wanted to take a break from working on my fiction in order to get my feet under me with my new contributor position at Book Riot. That pause was a good decision. I try not to set myself up to fail to often, and I can’t imagine what my schedule would have been like trying to make my usual word count goal in addition to maintaining my full time job, writing for this blog, and figuring out the Book Riot workflow.

Reasonable expectations really are a great thing.

Now that all of the hoopla has died down I’ll return to my normal writing schedule. That means that I plan to – or maybe it is aspire to – add 5000 new words to my modern mythology project by next week.

Reasonable goals really are a great thing too.

With that, I hope that you all achieve your writing goals as well and that you have a safe weekend. The area where I grew up was hit by a few tornados this past week, and something like four dozen others touched down in nearby states. A lot of people are having to rebuild, and if that group includes you, know that I’m keeping you in my thoughts.

  1. A very wise decision:). I wish you all the very best with Book Riot and I’m not a bit surprised they offered you the post – your blog is a testament to your writing talent. I look forward to hearing how you’re getting on next week in your writing projects. In the meantime, have a great week-end and an enjoyable week, Kristen:).
