Publishing Opportunity: Poetry, Art, and Prose

My recent foray into the Diversity Baseline Survey made me realize that I could do a bit better about these things as well. With that in mind, I want to highlight an exciting publishing opportunity. The Deaf Poets Society, an online journal not restricted to poets or members of the deaf community, is holding open submissions for works of poetry, prose, reviews, interviews, and art.

In particular, the journal is interested in works that “draw from experiences related to gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, race, or an other marginalized identity” including works that touch on chronic pain, neurodivergence, and disability.

If you are interested in submitting a piece to the journal, check out the submission guidelines. The journal publishes online six times a year, and the next issue will be released December 1. I also encourage everyone to explore the journal’s online archive. It features some great work and provides a good overview of the type of content that interests the journal editors.

If you end up publishing with the journal, I hope that you’ll share the news with us!
